The PEF 2003 Negotiation's Team has met with the membership in over 50 meetings across NYS. They have also surveyed via the COMMUNICATOR and e mail. In this process, some information has been forthcoming in support of the following statements:

1. Individuals are required to work more than their normal workweek on a regular basis. They are not receiving compensation for the additional hours of work yet should be.
    
2. Individuals are required to be available and alert during "off schedule hours" to respond to phone calls as well as return to work at a moment's notice (ie. on-call). They are not being compensated for the on -call work and should be.
